The Florida Association Trails Loxahatchee chapter is having a meeting for those interested in maintaining the nature trails around Florida. The event will include speakers from environmental organizations, learning more about their established programs and getting to know its members. Refreshments will be available.

The Florida Trail Association builds, maintains, protects, and promotes the Florida National Scenic Trail (Florida Trail), and a network of hiking trails throughout the state of Florida. Some trails around Florida include: Black Bear Wilderness Area Trail, Anhinga Trail, Kolokee Loop Trail, Shark Valley TramTrail, Wekiwa Springs Volkmarsh Trail, Dames Caves and Lizzie Hearts Trail, Lockwood to Barr, Weedon Island Preserve Trail, John Chestnut Park Loop and Econ River WildernessArea Red Loop.


Okeeheelee Nature Center’s exhibits focus on three Palm Beach County ecosystems: freshwater, coastal and upland pine flatwoods. It offers winding trails, ponds and a dog park. Non-motorized boats are welcome. Paddlers have access to some of the more remote areas. The park also has a BMX track and areas for horse riding. Bicycles and boats can be rented.
